DESCRIPTION:

The Eyes sculptures emerge as a metaphor for constant, unsettling observation. Suspended in the air and supported by a tree-like

structure, each eye casts a distinct gaze, illuminated from within by LED light that gives the impression of a living presence. This

light reveals something deeper: the reflection of the viewer’s inner fear. Feeling watched, the spectator experiences a mix of

vulnerability and tension, as if these natural, emerging gazes were penetrating their own intimacy. The installation blends ancestral

ceramic techniques with contemporary technology to confront us with ourselves, exposing what we often try to hide.

Work technical description

This project consists of several sculptures with diverse forms, all handmade using black refractory stoneware with 37% chamotte

(0–0.5 mm) and ochre refractory stoneware with 37% chamotte (0–0.5 mm), materials that provide texture and contrast. Each

piece is fired at 1250 °C and is intended to hang from a future tree-like structure, still to be built, suspended with braided iron

cable. Inside each sculpture, an LED light illuminates the eye, creating an intense and watchful presence. The combination of

ceramics, light, material contrast, and suspension forms a contemporary installation focused on the gaze and human perception.
